The problem and our answer
Short work in Helsinki is slow, informal and hard to trust.
The problem
- Restaurants, cafés and event companies need extra hands at short notice, and filling a shift through agencies or word of mouth is slow and costly.
- Private people need help with moving, cleaning or events but do not know whom to trust or how to pay legally.
- Many job seekers in Helsinki, including newcomers who do not speak Finnish yet, are shut out by long CVs and slow hiring.
HejTask's answer
- A Tinder-style swipe for work: short verified profiles instead of long CVs.
- One app, two modes: switch between "I want to work" and "I need help" any time.
- Trust and money built in: identity checks, in-app chat, payment held until the work is approved, reviews after every job.
- Compliance by design for Finland: every job is routed to the right legal model before it is published.
How it works
From swipe to payout in one flow.
Both sides see the same agreement, the same schedule and the same payment status.
- 1
Sign up and verify
Strong identification with Finnish online banking (bank ID), plus tax status and certificates.
- 2
Build a short profile
Skills, certificates, languages, availability and an optional short video CV.
- 3
Swipe or search jobs
Swipe right to apply, left to skip, or filter by distance, pay, time and language.
- 4
Match and chat
A match unlocks chat. Phone numbers, emails and bank details are blocked to keep everyone safe.
- 5
Confirm the agreement
Both sides confirm the same job card: time, place, pay and cancellation terms. Any change is confirmed again.
- 6
Check in and out
One tap at the start and end of the shift, with GPS and employer confirmation.
- 7
Get paid
Hours are confirmed per job and paid out in a weekly or monthly batch. Tips go 100 percent to the worker.
- 8
Review and grow
Rate the employer. The job is added to your experience automatically.

Three ways to match
Mutual swipe
Both swipe right.
Application
Worker applies, hirer accepts.
Invitation
Hirer invites, worker accepts.
For jobs that need several people, each person is matched separately.
Money flow
- Hirer pays at confirmation
- Held by licensed payment partner
- Work done, hours approved (or auto release after 72 h)
- Worker paid out weekly or monthly
Both sides pay a small platform fee. Exact fees will be set after legal review.
Main features
Built for trust, speed and fairness
Swipe matching
Job cards and worker cards one at a time. Swipe right, left, or tap for the full details.
Short, verified profiles
Bank ID or Y-tunnus check, verified certificates and an optional short video CV.
Search built for Helsinki
Filter by distance, time, pay and "Language at work" such as "No Finnish needed" or "English is enough". Search understands Finnish, English and Swedish words.
Safe in-app chat
Contact details and bank numbers are blocked, so deals and protection stay on the platform.
Secure payments
Paid at confirmation, held by a licensed partner, released after approval. Tips go 100 percent to the worker.
Check in and check out
Button, GPS and employer confirmation create a clear record of hours.
Legal routing built in
Four job models (employment placement, independent service, private one off task, temporary staffing via partner). A worker who is directed like an employee is never published as independent work.
Fair ranking
Every card explains why it is shown. Age, gender, nationality, religion and photos are never used as filters or ranking signals.
